Little Children

I just finished reading Little Children and I must say that the movie comes very close. So much of the dialogue was lifted from the book. I enjoyed the performances of Kate Winslet and Patrick Wilson - who really looks like a "Prom King". Their portrayal of life in the suburbs is amusing and sometimes scary. The performance by Jackie Earle Haley was so creepy - he was great.

Beware of the neighborhood playground. More specifically beware of the mothers that hang out there. Of course it takes a Kate Winslet to bag a fine playground father like Patrick Wilson, but remember, its a movie. A bit disturbing in certain parts, but a good story, good acting (props to Super Freak, Jackie Earl Haley) and overall well-done with a basically creepish ending.
